Blog post: Practical 45-degree side mount for secondary optics – my test report
As an enthusiastic IPSC shooter, I am always looking for new solutions that can improve my performance in matches. In 2024, I had the opportunity to test an interesting 45-degree side mount for secondary optics in Poland. I would like to share this experience with you today.
What makes the 45-degree side mounting special?
The mount is specially designed for the use of secondary optics - perfect if you want to quickly switch between primary optics and a red dot sight. The special thing about this model is that it is made of aluminum. This makes it not only robust, but also pleasantly light.
Another highlight are the cleverly positioned holes in the mounting plate. They make it possible to mount not only small red dots, but also larger models - such as those normally used on pistols. This means that the mounting offers impressive flexibility.
My conclusion after the match
The Rifle Match in Poland was the perfect opportunity to test the mount under competition conditions. I immediately liked how easy it was to use and how quickly it could change between optics. I was particularly impressed by the price-performance ratio: the price is absolutely fair for an aluminum mount that is so versatile.
So if you are looking for a reliable and flexible solution for secondary optics, you should take a closer look at this mount. I can highly recommend it, especially for matches where versatility and fast target acquisition are required.
Have you had any experience with such assemblies? I look forward to hearing your opinions and tips in the comments!
